Shira Myrow
Therapy
π Santa Monica, California β Private Practice
Shira Myrow runs a private therapy practice in Santa Monica. While she had built a strong reputation with her existing clients, her website was not generating enough visibility among people actively searching for therapy services in her area.
After auditing the site, I identified several issues affecting its search performance.
My objective was to improve the site's visibility, strengthen its content, and create a sustainable SEO foundation that Shira could continue building on after the project was completed.
How I worked on this project
I followed a structured SEO process that began with a site audit and keyword research before moving into content optimization, metadata improvements, and technical recommendations.
Website Audit
I began with a technical audit. I also reviewed Core Web Vitals to assess the site's overall performance.
The audit revealed several issues affecting user experience and search visibility. I created a prioritized action plan, separating quick wins from longer-term improvements.
Competitor Gap Analysis
I then analyzed the top-ranking websites for therapy-related searches in Santa Monica and West Los Angeles. By reviewing their keyword targets, content, and search visibility, I identified several high-intent opportunities with relatively low competition.
Keyword Clusters
Based on this research, I developed a keyword strategy around different stages of search intent.
Title Tags & Meta Descriptions
I rewrote the site's title tags and meta descriptions to align with target keywords and local search intent. Each page was optimized around a primary keyword, with metadata designed to improve relevance and click-through rates
Wireframe Rewrite
I recommended creating dedicated pages for each core service, allowing content to target distinct keyword clusters and search intents. I also proposed a clearer site hierarchy and internal linking structure to improve navigation.
Service Page Rewrite
I rewrote the site's core service pages using the keyword strategy as a framework. The content was optimized for search intent while maintaining a clear, approachable tone that reflected the nature of a therapist. I also maked it easier for potential clients to book a consultation through CTA.
Concrete improvements
The project resulted in improvements across six key areas, including technical SEO, site structure, content optimization, and long-term search strategy.
Technical issues resolved
Broken links fixed, redirect chains cleaned, image compression, Alt fixed applied.
Content edited and upgraded
Service pages rewritten with intent-matched keywords, active voice, and clear conversion paths.
Internal and external backlinks
I buit a internal linking structure into the new wireframe. I also identified external backlink opportunities via competitor analysis.
Greater search visibility
Each page now targets a defined keyword cluster rather than competing with itself. The metadata set gives Google clear signals for every URL.
A clear, documented strategy
I delivered an editable document of keyword map, wireframe, and content briefs. Shira can now execute future content independently without reinterpreting the strategy.
Audience-matched positioning
The rewritten content speaks directly to the clients Shira most wants to reach.
What changed
I designed the strategy for Shira with scalability in mind. This engagement helped me refine a repeatable approach for improving visibility
